Semester 2 Accommodation Options

If you are looking for accommodation for the second semester there are a number of options available for you to choose.

1. Contact the University of Manchester Accommodation Office

Please note that there is limited availability within University accommodation but this can change, you can apply at https://secure.accommodation.manchester.ac.uk/apply/ . If you receive an error message when trying to apply please contact us on accommodation@manchester.ac.uk where our teams will be able to advise.

2. Manchester Student Homes

Manchester Student Homes (MSH), is a free University run housing service for students, providing housing and community related information and guidance to students from all institutions across the city. As well as helping you search for accommodation the site has an active student noticeboard looking for students to share accommodation.

3. Other local Cities

We have identified accommodation in other local cities, these are also cities with Universities. Please note that availability is not guaranteed so for the most up to date information please contact the providers directly. You will be entering into an agreement with the private provider not the University of Manchester. Travel Information

The train from Huddersfield will arrive at either Manchester Piccadilly or Manchester Victoria station. The journey takes an average of 42 minutes, with trains running throughout the day and tickets starting at £14. It is cheaper to book tickets in advance. It is about a 20 minute walk to get to Huddersfield station from all available halls. It will be a 15-20 minute walk from either of the Manchester stations, to the University campus.

All halls noted are a maximum of 15 minutes walk to Liverpool Lime Street Station. The train from Lime Street to Manchester takes a minimum of 34 minutes, with trains running from early in the morning to late at night. Tickets start at £2.90. It is cheaper to book tickets in advance.
The train will arrive at one of three Manchester stations:
  • Oxford Road – a 5 minute walk to the University;
  • Piccadilly – a 15 minute walk to the University;
  • Victoria – a 20 minute walk to the University.
