New Student Applications

Applications for the next Academic Year (commencing September) will be actioned as follows:

If you are guaranteed an offer of University accommodation and your place on a programme of study is already unconditional we shall email you from June onwards, prior to start of the academic year in September, to let you know the residence to which you have been allocated.

If you are guaranteed an offer of University accommodation but your place is conditional on examination results your place in a residence will be allocated after your place becomes unconditional. Undergraduates do not need to notify this office of your results, as our database will automatically be updated from the Admissions database (this does not happen for postgraduates so please email us at accommodation@manchester.ac.uk as soon as your place becomes definite).

If you are not guaranteed an offer of accommodation we shall consider your application for accommodation from June onwards, prior to start of session in September and will update you on the progress of your application by 31 August of the same year, at the latest.

PLEASE NOTE: Operational requirements may mean that the halls listed on the application form undergo a change of use and may cease to be available. In such instances notification will be given via the accommodation website and via e-mail.

Present Student Applications

Applications from existing University of Manchester students in the academic year 2021/22 to live in hall in the following year 22/23 need to be submitted before the deadline of Friday 18th February 2022. Applications will be discussed with the ResLife team in each Hall of Residence where appriopriate before a decision is made with regard to acceptance or rejection of the application. We aim to ensure all applicants will be aware of their accommodation status by Friday April 29th 2022.

Applicants seeking to return to hall must have no outstanding debts with the University. We will not offer accommodation to students who have breached the Terms & Conditions and/or behaved in a way detrimental to the interests of the community.
