ResLife Advisor Recruitment

ResLife Advisors (RLAs) act as a first point of contact for students in University Halls of Residences, working proactively to help build communities in halls and providing support to help students experiencing difficulties. Each RLA is responsible for a group of residents, getting to know them and meeting regularly. RLAs will also take part in an on call 'Duty' rota which provides out-of-hours support to students living in halls (including evenings and weekends) 365 days a year.

This is a rewarding, and challenging role that will offer a variety of benefits and excellent experience for anyone who is passionate about improving the student experience. Benefits include:

  • Gaining a wide range of skills and experience in effective communication, conflict resolution, and safeguarding
  • Getting involved in working directly with students to support and enrich their experience at the University
  • Benefitting from a comprehensive Residential Life training programme
  • Being part of an active and friendly community

Please note the role of Residential Life Advisor is a voluntary worker role. However, single occupancy accommodation is provided to RLAs at no charge, in catered halls you would be required to pay a fixed charge for food (details provided on appointment).

You can find out more about the role in the Residential Life Advisor Job Description. Appointments to these posts are made from 1st September 2017 – 31st August 2018.
